History of Velosoul

  • “Velosoul Bicycles” first opened for business late in the spring of 2009. The shop’s initial emphasis was on the purchase and sale of used bikes and bike parts.
  • The shop was sold by its original owner in the summer of 2010. Operating as “Velosoul Cycles”, the new owners evolved the business into a full service shop with a full stock of new and used bikes.
  • In February of 2011, Velosoul became a Jamis dealer.
  • In June of 2011, Chris Fuller was brought on board to manage the shop’s service department.

    Velosoul Today

    • The next phase of Velosoul’s evolution has now begun!  On December 1, 2011, Zach Hepner, who has amassed an impressive resume in the bicycle industry during the last 6 years, acquired the shop.  Now operating as Velosoul Cyclery, much has changed!

  • Effective December 1, 2011, we decided not to continue offering used bikes for sale or consignment, choosing instead to focus exclusively on the sale of new bikes.
  • During December, a new wifi bar was installed and the shop underwent a sleek makeover designed to permit us to accomodate more bicycles and accessories on our shop floor.
  • During December, we doubled our inventory of new Jamis bicycles.  Since that time, we’ve increased our inventory even more, and now consistently strive to maintain a broad selection of commuter/street bikes, road bikes and mountain bikes.
  • During the spring of 2012, we significantly expanded our selection of bicycle accessories. We have an impressive new array of helmets, panniers and racks on hand, and are now an authorized dealer for Louis Garneau and Ortlieb USA!
  • From a personnel perspective, the one thing that has not changed is that Chris Fuller remains on staff as our service manager.  Chris F. has over 30 years of experience in the bicycle industry and we place high value on the incredible wealth of knowledge that he brings to the shop!
  • Michael Nodurft and Amanda Patrick joined our staff as interns during the spring of 2012 and quickly became valuable members of our team!
  • Our staff grew further during the spring of 2012 with the addition of Chris Bolles, who is working both in the service department and on the sales floor.  Chris B. has over 16 years of experience in the industry and we are excited to have him on board!

    We’re excited about the changes we’ve made at Velosoul Cyclery and are anxious to earn the opportunity to serve your bicycling needs. We believe that our service department, as presently constituted, is one of the finest in the state! So, if your bike needs a tune-up or other repair, rest assured that you will be leaving it in the best of hands. If you’re in the market for a new bike or accessories for your existing bike, we’re confident that our newly expanded inventory will provide you with a number of great options to consider! If, by chance, we don’t have exactly what you are looking for in stock, we’ll happily sit down with you at our wifi bar computer and arrange to order it in for you from one of our fine vendors.
